CDC represents not only one of the leading IT distributors to Italian market, but also an important manufacturer of consumer desktop PCs, with over 115,000 PCs produced in 2005 by Micronica, the company controlled 100% by CDC that has been created in 1990 to produce and assemble PCs and small servers.

With the opening of the new Cedis - Micronica Center, productivity has increased by more than 100% (from 1,200 units to 2,500 units per day) and has reached an annual potential productivity of more than 500,000 PCs.

The monitoring of the production and the control of quality involve all the phases of the process, from the preliminary step (market analysis, input from vendors and international manufacturers),
to successive tests, on the prototype (performance, safety, relative regulations) and on components(incoming tests), up to the testing of the personal computer and the server via an exclusive software. Later, "out of box" random tests are carried out on products which are already under shipment, and the results of all the tests are filed in a data bank and are used to reduce to the minimum the margin for errors.

The technical excellence of CDC's production is also due to the fact that:

  • It produces primarily on an "already sold" basis, thanks to a sophisticated software which manages the production and which is connected to the distribution channels

  • CDC has a direct contact with new products, both hardware and software which are being launched on the markets, as it is distributor and tester of the most important brands in the world.
