In October 2000, CDC opened the new CEDIS, one of the biggest and most advanced distribution centres in Italy which soon allowed a consistent improvement in the efficiency of the distribution chain. The new CEDIS is able to manage 20 thousand references and to ship 10,000 cartons per hour (as opposed to the past 6,580 shipped per day) and it makes possible to carry out in 2 hours the movements previously carried out in a day, so that it can be considered a key factor for the growth of CDC's business.

about CEDIS' work

The recent achievement by CDC and Micronica of VISION 2000 certification further proves CDC Group's constant effort to reach excellence through the control of all company's processes and customers' satisfaction. The new certification, released by the Italian branch of Bureau Veritas Quality International, the most widely recognised certification body in the world, implements the purpose and the field of application of previous ISO 9001:1994 certifications achieved by CDC and Micronica last year, concerning projecting, production and technical assistance of personal computers. VISION 2000 certification obtained by Micronica and CDC comprehends also logistics and sales processes. The achievement in such a short period of VISION 2000 (about two years in advance considering that the implementation period fixed by ISO ends in December 2003) and its extension to all the companies' processes, including logistics, represent an important goal. Moreover CDC Group is one of the first operators in the IT sector obtaining Vision 2000 certification.

The graph indicates the product cycle, i.e. the principal phases of the distribution chain, from the shipment of the product, to the sale of the product distributed by CDC c/o a sales outlet of CDC's distribution network, up to the new order either to the supplier of the product , or to its own production unit.
